J2 Labs Inc. ("J2 Labs," "we," "us") operates j2labs.co. This policy explains what personal information we collect through the site, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. By using the site, you acknowledge this policy. Questions: hello@j2labs.co.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you use the contact form we receive your email address. If you choose to share more about your business, you do that through a follow-up form hosted by Google Forms, and we receive what you enter there. We also receive anything you send us by email or share with us in conversation.
Information collected automatically. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site: pages viewed, time on page, referring site, device and browser type, and approximate location derived from your IP address. Google Analytics sets cookies to do this. How Google uses data from sites that use its services. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not set cookies, to count page views and measure how fast pages load. Our hosting provider (Netlify) and network provider (Cloudflare) process IP addresses and standard request data to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
On your device only. If you switch the site's color theme, that preference is saved in your browser's local storage. It is never sent to us.
Please do not send us sensitive personal information (such as government ID numbers, health information, or financial account numbers) through the site.
How we use it
- To reply to you and to evaluate, negotiate, and carry out a potential partnership, investment, or acquisition.
- To operate, secure, maintain, and improve the site.
- To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- To comply with legal obligations and to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
We treat what you share about your business as confidential. We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use it for advertising.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on our legitimate interests (responding to you and evaluating potential transactions, and running a secure website), on your consent where we ask for it, and on legal obligations where they apply.
How we share it
- Service providers that help us run the site and our business, only for that purpose: Netlify (hosting and form storage), Cloudflare (network delivery, security, and cookieless page-view analytics), and Google (Analytics, Forms, and email).
- Professional advisors, such as lawyers and accountants, who are bound by duties of confidentiality, when needed to evaluate or complete a transaction.
- Legal and safety reasons: when required by law or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of J2 Labs, our users, or others.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of all or part of our business, subject to this policy.
Cookies and tracking across other sites
We do not use advertising pixels. We configure Google Analytics with its Google signals and ad-personalization features turned off, so it measures visits to this site rather than linking them to your activity elsewhere. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on.
Browser privacy signals
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, the site does not load Google Analytics for your visit. Cloudflare's cookieless page-view counting still runs, as part of delivering the site.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiry information for as long as we need it to evaluate and pursue a potential relationship and to meet our legal, accounting, and record-keeping obligations, and then delete or de-identify it. Google Analytics data is kept according to the retention period set in our Analytics account.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we receive. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy of it, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing (we do not sell or share it). To make a request, email hello@j2labs.co with the subject "Privacy request." We will verify your request using the information we already have, and you may use an authorized agent. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision.
Where information is processed
We are based in the United States, and we and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. Those countries may have different data protection laws than where you live.
Children
This site is intended for business owners and professionals. It is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other sites
The site links to services we do not control, such as Google Forms. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the date at the top. Material changes take effect when posted.
